200 Electric Meters Stolen in Machakos County ⚡🚨

The Machakos County Government has launched a crackdown after 200 electricity meters were stolen, threatening critical services. One stolen meter was found installed at a private home, with a Kes 1.6M bill covered by the county. Culprits have seven days to return stolen meters or face legal action.

Yesterday morning, more than 2,000 gang members were transferred from Izalco, Ciudad Barrios, and San Vicente prisons to the newly constructed Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT). President Nayib Bukele stated, "There they will pay for the crimes committed against our people; cut off from the outside, without the possibility of leaving, nor of ordering crimes from prison." This move is part of Bukele's ongoing crackdown on gang violence in El Salvador, which has seen significant reductions in crime rates but has also drawn criticism for alleged human rights abuses.
