Strengthening Community Health through Collaboration by Expansion of Area Coverage of HIP (Health Information Point) model
We are proud to share the success of a recent consultative meeting held between the Community Health Promotion Fund, North Coast Medical Training College, and our partners at the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. This meeting focused on the strategic expansion of our Health Information Points to reach more communities and households across the region.
We are particularly excited to announce that the Community Health Promotion Fund and North Coast Medical Training College has received official approval to begin implementing the HIP model within schools in Kilifi South. This expansion allows us to bring vital health screenings and education directly to students and staff, supported by the dedicated expertise of North Coast Medical Training College students. As county officers gain a deeper understanding of this innovative model, we look forward to a seamless rollout that accelerates our shared goal of Universal Health Coverage. Together, we are making quality healthcare accessible, one community at a time.

Strengthening Sustainability: CHPF Hosts SRHR Refresher Training for COBEs Team
The CHPF-SRHR project recently reached a significant milestone in its mission to strengthen local health initiatives by hosting a five-day "Refresher Training on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)" at the Beaumont Hotel. This intensive workshop was specifically designed to equip the entire COBES team with the specialized skills needed to handle and provide Adolescent and Youth Friendly Services (AYFS). By focusing on the unique needs of young people, the training ensures that healthcare delivery in Kilifi South is not only accessible but also respectful and tailored to the younger generation.
Throughout the week, the sessions fostered a deep understanding of how to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and the youth, with Stella Bendera (SCPHN, Kilifi South) facilitating key sessions to guide the team through these critical rights-based services. The dedication of the participants was evident in every discussion as they worked together to refine their approach to youth engagement. The week culminated in a celebratory awards ceremony where trainers Emmanuel Mrira Koti (SCRHC) and Stella Bendera joined COBES Manager Madam Jane Mabuko to present completion certificates to all the team members. This collective recognition marks a major step forward in building a sustainable, youth-centered health workforce for our community.
We are incredibly proud of the COBES team’s commitment to ensuring that every young person in our community has access to the high-quality care they deserve.
