𝗔𝗜 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻—𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

Over the past two days, I had the privilege of participating in the African Union ECOSOCC AI Capacity-Building Training for Civil Society Organizations, delivered in partnership with Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

I returned home with more than a certificate—I returned with a different perspective.

For a long time, many of us in the nonprofit sector viewed Artificial Intelligence (AI) as something meant for large corporations or technology companies. This training reminded me that AI is becoming an essential tool for every mission-driven organization that wants to create greater impact.

Imagine a community-based organization spending less time writing reports and more time supporting survivors of gender-based violence.

Imagine youth-led organizations developing stronger grant proposals and securing more funding.

Imagine volunteers accessing training materials in minutes instead of days.

Imagine small grassroots organizations using data to make better decisions for the communities they serve.

That is the opportunity AI presents.

As the Founder and Director of 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, I believe our responsibility is not only to learn but also to share what we learn. Knowledge has the greatest value when it reaches those who need it most.

This experience has inspired me to begin conversations on how we can make AI knowledge accessible to grassroots organizations, youth groups, schools, and community leaders who often have limited access to digital skills training.
