Empowering Girls in Homabay: A journey to provide Sustainable Sanitary Pads.
In March 2023, a group of passionate individuals embarked on a life-changing journey to Homa Bay, a rural region in western Kenya. Their mission was to distribute undisposable sanitary pads to four schools in the area, with the aim of addressing a critical issue faced by many adolescent girls in the region: menstrual hygiene management. This trip was not just about providing pads; it was about empowering young girls and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation.

The Journey Begins:

The journey to Homa Bay was not just a physical one; it was a journey of determination, empathy, and a shared vision to make a difference in the lives of young girls. The team, consisting of volunteers, activists, and local partners, set out with the belief that access to proper menstrual hygiene is a fundamental right for every girl, regardless of their economic background.

Arrival in Homa Bay:

Upon arriving in Homa Bay, the team was greeted with warm smiles and open arms by the local community. The excitement in the air was palpable as the team began preparations for the distribution of the undisposable sanitary pads. Local leaders and educators expressed their gratitude and shared stories of how this initiative would positively impact the lives of their students.

Empowering Girls Through Education:

Before distributing the sanitary pads, the team organized interactive workshops in each of the four schools. These workshops aimed to educate the girls about menstrual hygiene, bust myths and taboos, and empower them with knowledge about their bodies. Distribution of Undisposable Sanitary Pads:

The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the distribution of the undisposable sanitary pads. Each girl received a kit containing enough pads to last them for 3 years. The pads were designed to be environmentally friendly, reusable, and sustainable, ensuring that the girls would not only have access to menstrual hygiene products but also reduce their environmental impact.

We had noble activities back in March 2023 that haven't been posted and we promise to post as soon as possible. Dubbed the Homabay Mission.

We have an upcoming mission in Namanga this coming June and we are requesting for your support.

We are planing to give our 200 sanitary kits to young girls and 200 boxers to the boys. Each kit costs kshs.1000

For the boxers we are still trying to get the best price.

We are in plans of also giving the boys soccer balls. Each soccer ball goes for kshs.2500.
