How to know if that spouse is the will of the LORD for you
1. Stop praying only for what you want and start asking for God’s will (Matthew 6:10)
Many people enter prayer already fixed on a specific type of person. But clarity begins when your heart is open to God’s choice, not just your preference. When you surrender your desire, God begins to refine your discernment.
2. Pay attention to inner peace, not emotional excitement (Colossians 3:15)
Attraction can be loud, but peace is steady. If your spirit is constantly unsettled even when everything looks right, don’t ignore it. God often confirms His direction through peace that remains even after emotions settle.
3. Observe their walk with God, not just their words about God (Matthew 7:20)
It is easy for anyone to speak spiritually, but consistency reveals truth. A life partner in God’s will will show evidence of a real relationship with Him, not just religious language.
4. Check if your spiritual life becomes stronger or weaker around them (Amos 3:3)
A right connection does not pull you away from God. Instead, it supports your spiritual growth. If the relationship consistently weakens your prayer life, conviction, or hunger for God, it needs serious discernment.
5. Notice patterns, not just moments (Proverbs 20:11)
People can act right in certain seasons, but patterns reveal character. God often speaks through consistency over time. Don’t make decisions based on isolated good moments.
6. Seek God repeatedly until clarity replaces confusion (James 1:5)
God is not silent when you sincerely ask for wisdom. Sometimes clarity grows gradually as you continue to pray, fast, and wait. Confusion that persists without peace is a signal to pause.
7. Look at how they handle correction and pressure (Proverbs 15:31–32)
A teachable spirit is a strong sign of maturity. Someone who rejects correction or reacts poorly under pressure may struggle in long-term covenant responsibility.
8. Don’t ignore time and process in God’s leading (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
God often confirms relationships through time, not quick impressions. When something is truly from Him, it remains consistent through seasons, not just moment
