Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network

As a regional leader in strengthening field epidemiology capacity and advancing the development of the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP), EMPHNET continues to provide a platform for collaboration, peer learning, and strategic dialogue among country programs.

On June 8, the EMPHNET FETP Board of Directors biannual meeting convened, and country representatives from 16 countries across the Eastern Mediterranean Region and other priority countries, alongside EMPHNET leadership and technical teams.

The meeting highlighted key developments since the previous Board meeting, featured reflections from newly established FETPs in Syria and Kuwait, and explored opportunities to further strengthen collaboration, institutionalization, and sustainability across country programs.

بصفتها شبكة إقليمية رائدة في دعم وتطوير برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية وتعزيز قدرات القوى العاملة في مجال الصحة العامة، تواصل امفنت توفير منصة للتعاون وتبادل الخبرات والحوار الاستراتيجي بين البرامج الوطنية في المنطقة.

وفي 8 يونيو، عقدت امفنت اجتماعها نصف السنوي لمجلس إدارة برامج تدريب الوبائيات الميدانية، بمشاركة مديري وممثلي البرامج من 16 بلدا من إقليم شرق المتوسط وعدد من البلدان الأخرى ذات الأولوية، إلى جانب قيادة امفنت وفرقها الفنية.

وسلّط الاجتماع الضوء على أبرز التطورات التي شهدتها البرامج منذ الاجتماع السابق، واستعرض تجارب البرامج التي انطلقت مؤخرا في سوريا والكويت. كما ناقش الاجتماع فرص تعزيز التعاون وتبادل الخبرات بين البرامج ومأسستها وضمان استدامتها بما يدعم بناء قوى عاملة مؤهلة وتعزيز الأمن الصحي في المنطقة.

📍Jordan

EMPHNET, through its training arm, the International Academy of Public Health, convened Family Health Team (FHT) implementing teams, including 14 participants from the Ministry of Health of Jordan, alongside partners from WHO in Amman to review progress in the implementation of the FHT approach.

The workshop provided an opportunity for implementing teams to share field experiences, highlight key achievements, discuss implementation challenges, and document lessons learned and recommendations. Participants also identified priority actions and next steps to support the continued implementation of the FHT approach.

This project is implemented by the Ministry of Health of Jordan, with support from EMPHNET through IAPH, in collaboration with WHO and with support from the European Union.

عقدت امفنت، من خلال ذراعها التدريبي الأكاديمية الدولية للصحة المجتمعية (أياف)، اجتماعا لمجموعة تنفيذ نهج فريق صحة الأسرة، بمشاركة 14 مشاركًا من وزارة الصحة الأردنية، إلى جانب شركاء من منظمة الصحة العالمية في عمّان، لمراجعة مستجدات تطبيق هذا النهج.

وشهد الاجتماع استعراض الفرق التنفيذية لخبراتها الميدانية، واستكشاف أبرز الإنجازات، ومناقشة عقبات التنفيذ، مع توثيق التوصيات والدروس المستفادة. كما حدد المشاركون الإجراءات ذات الأولوية والمسارات القادمة لضمان استمرارية تطبيق النهج وتوسيع نطاقه.

ويُنفذ هذا المشروع من قبل وزارة الصحة الأردنية، بمساندة امفنت من خلال أياف، وبالتعاون مع منظمة الصحة العالمية، وبدعم من الاتحاد الأوروبي.
