Glenroy Murray is stepping away from EFAF.

After ten years of working with Equality for All Foundation (EFAF) to advocate for the rights, wellbeing and livelihood of LGBTQ+ Jamaicans, Glenroy Murray has decided to begin a transition process that would see him fully step away from the organisation at the end of 2026. Our Executive Director remains proud of the work that the organisation has been able to do under his leadership - the re-establishment of the Rainbow House following the 2018 fire, the formal documentation of LGBTQ+ history in Jamaica and the undertaking of groundbreaking research that have focused on varied dimensions of the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Jamaica.

“When I started in June 2016, many in the community were still too afraid to claim their true selves publicly and the knowledge of rights and the impact of laws on our daily lives was limited. Now the community has transformed into a cultural powerhouse with influencers and community leaders claiming space boldly and unapologetically,” Glenroy shares as he reflects on the changes he’s been able to witness.

Glenroy’s transition phase will begin on July 1. During that period he will work part-time to support the organization’s mission.

Glenroy will remain committed to the work of q***r liberation in Jamaica and commits to supporting the work of EFAF whenever and however he can. He is hoping that his departure creates space for radical ideas and transformative leadership that will take the community and Jamaica to unseen heights.

All public communication and representation on behalf of the organisation will be handled by Shadeana Mascull, Director of Programmes & Partnerships (@equalityjamaica.org) until such time as leadership arrangements are finalised.

is taking a pause.

As we look ahead, we have made the decision to pause both PRiDEJA 2026 and the PRiDEJA Mystery Box as we focus on strategic development and targeted community interventions.

Since 2015, PRiDEJA has been guided by a simple belief: that LGBTQ+ Jamaicans deserve opportunities to connect, celebrate, learn, and thrive in community. Over the last ten years, together, we have created spaces for visibility, joy, dialogue, advocacy, and belonging. Participation in our PrideShare facility over the last few years has been heartening as more community leaders and members have demonstrated they understand the value of Pride.

While our signature events will not take place in 2026, the values and principles on which PRiDEJA was founded remain unchanged. We remain committed to fostering community, supporting local leaders, strengthening affirming spaces, and creating opportunities for meaningful engagement. We are also hopeful that community uses this opportunity to consider their role in continuing the mission of PRiDEJA in the future.

Though we do not know when PRiDEJA will return in its traditional form, this pause is an opportunity to reflect, refocus, and reimagine what comes next.

The last decade has shown us the power of community. That work does not end here.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

The community remains.
The work continues.

Our work has always gone beyond a single acronym. 🌈

For years, the mission was bigger than the name, and now, the name better reflects the full scope of our advocacy, impact, and community.

Equality for All Foundation Limited represents a broader vision for justice, inclusion, health, and human rights across Jamaica.

Same fight. Bigger vision!
