Today, we celebrate the brave men and women who stood firm for justice, equality, and the right to speak freely. Their courage paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today, reminding us that true heroism lies in integrity, resilience, and the courage to stand for what’s right.

Let’s honor their legacy by continuing to uphold honesty, fairness, and the freedom of expression in all we do. 💫

Democracy is not a performance. It is practice. And when citizens are denied the tools to participate
— or forced to use only those tools sanctioned by the state — democracy becomes a monologue, not a dialogue. We urge all Jamaicans to stand with civil society in demanding a petition process that is accessible, accountable, and worthy of the people it serves.
There is still time to Be True and to Do the Right Thing.

Day 2 ✅ of our two-day Capacity Building Workshop under the theme “Strengthening Civil Society to Impact Democracy in Jamaica” continued with meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and reflection. 🇯🇲

As Civil Society Organizations, our role is to serve as the bridge between citizens and the state; amplifying voices, holding institutions accountable, and promoting transparency, participation, and equity. 💪🏽

It’s essential for us to analyze Jamaica’s democratic journey and understanding where we’ve come from, where we stand today, and what actions are needed to strengthen our democracy for the future. By identifying new avenues and approaches, we can better engage citizens, influence policy, and drive the collective effort toward a more just, inclusive, and accountable Jamaica. 🇯🇲🤝
