Eccomi con il solito post annuale che faccio dal . Oggi vi rivelerò una notizia che potrebbe togliervi il sonno.

Mentre spopola l'IA generativa (ChatGPT per intenderci) che preoccupa per le ricadute sul mondo del lavoro, già si avvicina l'IA generale, cioè un'intelligenza identica a quella umana.

Il bello arriverà fra 10 anni quando, udite udite, l'IA diventerà più intelligente dell'uomo.

Vorrei farvi capire cosa significa questa cosa.
Non significa che i computer faranno calcoli e ragionamenti più velocemente dell’uomo, questo lo fanno già da decenni.
Significa invece che i computer saranno in grado di comprendere cose a noi incomprensibili, concetti che noi, nemmeno se ci fanno un disegnino e ce lo spiegano con calma, riusciremo a comprendere, semplicemente perché il nostro cervello non ne è capace.

L’IA si rapporterà con noi allo stesso modo con cui oggi l’uomo si rapporta con gli scimpanzé: puoi insegnarli a disegnare, a infilare un cubo nel buco quadrato, ma non potrai mai spiegargli la teoria della relatività di Einstein, nemmeno se ci provi ogni giorno per tutta la sua vita.
