On the 16th of Septembre the first date of Zucchero - Overdose d’amore took place in Arena di Verona.
And we were there to document it!

“Yo estoy con la tormenta y la tormenta está conmigo”

Questa frase, pronunciata da Ramon Zeballo, potente sciamano Ishir di più di 100 anni, riassume meglio di qualsiasi libro il profondo e antico rapporto di scambio, rispetto e confidenza reciproci che i popoli nativi del Chaco ancora oggi conservano con la Natura. Una lezione di vita, prima ancora che di antropologia.

This phrase, uttered by Ramón Zeballo, a powerful Ishir shaman of over 100 years, sums up better than any book the profound and ancient relationship of exchange, respect, and mutual trust that the native peoples of Chaco still maintain with Nature today. A lesson in life, even more than in anthropology.

This is a trip around Gran Chaco with the aim to create a video documentation to preserve culture and traditions of the indigenous communities.

First step: Achè community at Puerto Barra.
The Aché are a proud indigenous people who have lived in the forest for millennia, in harmony with nature. Preservers of ancient knowledge, they maintain a symbiotic relationship with the forest’s plants and animals, so much so that each of them is named after an animal. Forced to flee the forest in the 1970s due to deforestation, they now live in various communities in the Gran Chaco. The Puerto Barra community is one of the most active and thriving, constantly seeking the challenging balance between traditional life and the contemporary world.

Primo step: la comunità Achè di Puerto Barra.
Gli Achè sono un fiero popolo indigeno che ha vissuto nella foresta per millenni, in armonia con la natura. Conservatori di una conoscenza antica, hanno un rapporto simbiotico con le piante e gli animali della foresta, tanto che ognuno di loro porta il nome di un animale. Costretti a fuggire dalla foresta negli anni Settanta a causa della deforestazione, vivono oggi in diverse comunità nel Gran Chaco. La comunità di Puerto Barra è una delle più attive e rigogliose, alla ricerca costante del difficile equilibrio tra la vita tradizionale e il mondo contemporaneo.
