De aftermovie van het Ambacht in Beeld Festival staat online! Bekijk 'm helemaal via de #linkinbio! Op 23 en 24 september werd de NDSM Loods omgetoverd tot een grote werkplaats, met workshops, masterclasses en demonstraties, exposities, proeverijen, vegan eten en drinken, documentaires en nog veel meer. Duizenden bezoekers hebben ervaren hoe het is om zelf iets met hun handen te maken. Veel dank aan alle ambachtslieden, partners, sponsors, vrijwilligers en aan alle bezoekers. Nadania Idriss is the vice president of our Board of Directors and is the founder and managing director of Berlin Glas . Nadania is a key member of our Berlin 2024 site committee and is working hard to help plan a fantastic conference. Berlin Glas, a Berlin 2024 conference venue, is a non-profit glass studio that hosts residencies and classes and does extensive youth programming in the community. We are grateful for Nadania’s work in the international glass community, her service on the board, and her work planning the 2024 Conference.

“Why did I choose glass? Actually, it chose me. I have tried many materials but glass has a strength, when you work with it you have to be present. You have to respect it, it’s alive. In a certain sense it has led me to live life to the full” -Chiara Lee Taiarol Chiara Lee Taiarol, Mariana Oliboni and Andrew Dougherty werken in de door vrouwen gerunde Studio El Cocal in Murano, thuisbasis van het mooiste glaswerk ter wereld. Van oudsher wordt het ambacht glasblazen door mannen gedomineerd en wordt het vak van vader op zoon doorgegeven, waardoor deze studio zich echt onderscheidt. Wij hebben deze glasblazers uitgenodigd om tijdens het Ambacht in Beeld Festival hun kennis te delen en workshops te geven! Je kunt een ornament of paperweight blazen of een zogenaamde 'wave' vaas of schaal leren maken. Wees er snel bij, want er is beperkt plek per workshop! De kaartverkoop voor het festival start op 1 september.
