The best image I could ever produce.

This is something you will not see every day, but I guarantee you that what you are seeing right now is a planet orbiting its own star.
Exactly, you read it right. This is not in our solar system!
As long as I'm concerned, it's unbelievable what advance in technology has made possible today.

The star KOI-13 is located at almost 1354 lights years away from us and its planet KOI-13b revolves it really close and fast.
The mass of the planet is 9.28 times greater than the mass of Jupiter located at 0.036AU (distance Earth-Sun) from its star.

The method which I used is called the transit method.
Essentially, one would look at the light intensity of a star and wait for a change in luminosity when a planet passes in front of it.
For those of you wondering, this change in light intensity (relative flux) for this particular star was approximately 9ppt (parts per thousand, 0.9%)
