The Solomon Islands Marist Sector has concluded its Annual Retreat at Queen of Martyrs Wainoni Parish in Makira Province. The retreat brought together Marist priests and brothers, with the participation of Bishop Jacob Aba SM of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Auki, as well as the SMSM Sisters, who joined in prayer and reflection throughout the retreat.

The annual gathering provided an opportunity for spiritual renewal, fraternity, and recommitment to their mission of serving God's people.

For the greater glory of God and the honour of Mary!

With gratitude for a life generously given in mission, we remember our dear Sister Mary Marietta Parsons, SMSM.

Throughout many years of missionary service in Samoa, Solomon Islands and New Zealand, she touched countless lives through her ministry in education, accompanying and nurturing generations of young people with wisdom and faith.

Later, through her work with the Leprosy Foundation, she continued her mission of compassion, walking alongside families facing hardship and offering hope. In all that she did, Sister Mary Marietta lived her vocation in the spirit of Mary; quietly attentive to the needs of others, joyful in service, and faithful to God's call.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master." (Matthew 25:23) Now enjoy the fullness of God's peace and the reward of your faithful service. 🩵🙏
