🌍 Happy Earth Day!
Our sport needs no engine — just water, a boat, and the courage to try.
RAEX showed that rowing is for everyone: zero emissions, zero age limits, zero exclusion. A river is the most democratic gym in the world.
As our project closes, this is what stays: the knowledge that nature and sport, together, can open doors that seemed shut forever.
Protect the water. Keep rowing. Keep including.

RAEX — Rowing Against Exclusion was co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

🏁 The REAX – Rowing Against Exclusion project has reached its final destination: Malmö, Sweden! 🇸🇪🚣

This weekend, partners from Italy, Sweden and Cyprus gathered for the 3rd and final Transnational Project Meeting, closing the chapter on an incredible EU-funded project that used the power of rowing to fight social exclusion.

🔑 Project highlights:

✅ 21 sport events organised across partner clubs
✅ 461 participants directly involved in sport activities
✅ 17 dissemination initiatives reaching over 1,000 indirect beneficiaries
✅ An e-learning platform with 3 Google Classrooms (Erg, Boat & Home Training) and 7 coaches
✅ Website unique visitors more than doubled year-on-year
✅ Strong social media growth across Facebook, Instagram () and YouTube (RAEX TV)

From our Kickoff in November 2024 to the rowing camp in Cyprus, through the D'Inverno sul Po regatta and the Rimini Wellness Fair — REAX showed what European cooperation in sport can truly achieve.

🌊 But REAX doesn't end here. The values of inclusion that guided this project are now part of the DNA of our clubs. Every rower who joined us, every young person who found their place on the water — they carry this mission forward. Inclusion isn't a project deliverable. It's a way of rowing together.

A heartfelt thank you to all rowers, coaches, volunteers and partner organisations. The finish line is just the beginning! 🙌

RAEX on the start line: rowing together at C2 OPEN 2026 - RAEX - Rowing against exclusion 27/01/2026

RAEX is heading to Rome! 🚣‍♂️

After months of training, the RAEX crew will be on the start line at C2 OPEN 2026 – ERG CUP (Stage 6) at the Foro Italico.

But this is more than a race 💥
It’s about rowing beyond gender barriers, pulling the same chain, sharing the same effort — and building an inclusive rowing community that goes beyond the project timeline. 🌍

Inclusive rowing starts when we show up — together. 💙

RAEX on the start line: rowing together at C2 OPEN 2026 - RAEX - Rowing against exclusion After months of training — and yes, a lot of winter erg sessions 😅 — the RAEX team is ready to line up at C2 OPEN 2026 – ERG CUP, Stage 6, taking place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 February 2026 at the iconic Palestra Monumentale, Foro Italico (Rome). For many of us, indoor […]

🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️ RAEX is showing up IRL — see you at C2 OPEN 2026 in Rome! 🇮🇹🔥

After months of training (yes, those winter erg sessions count 😅), the RAEX team will be on the start line at C2 OPEN 2026 — 6th stage of ERG CUP, happening Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 February 2026 in Rome, at the Palestra Monumentale del Foro Italico.

This event is a big milestone for us: it’s where technique meets passion. Indoor rowing is the perfect “summary” of our sport—rhythm, precision, grit, and that addictive feeling of moving together (even when your legs are politely asking you to stop). 💥

But it’s also bigger than racing:
RAEX is about rowing beyond gender barriers. On the erg, everyone pulls the same chain—same effort, same respect, same space to belong. That’s the culture we’re building, and we’re bringing it to C2 OPEN.

And here’s the key part: RAEX officially wraps in 2026, but the community shouldn’t. This weekend is also our way to engage new faces, new energy, new “next wave” rowers—so the impact keeps going long after the project timeline. 🌊

LA28 2028: sport is (really) pushing mixed-gender teams 💪🌍

At the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the competition programme takes another step toward gender equality: 351 medal events, including 25 mixed-gender events (women + men).
And it’s not just a “detail”: mixed teams help shift sport culture—training cooperation, respect, and shared roles. Exactly the direction RAEX is rowing toward. 🤝🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️
What’s new (quick recap) 📝

New mixed team events include:
Athletics: the 4x100m mixed relay will debut (replacing the mixed race-walk relay).

Rowing: Coastal Rowing Beach Sprint introduces the mixed double sculls.

Artistic Gymnastics: a new mixed team event (format to be confirmed).

Golf: a mixed team competition joins the individual events.

Table Tennis: a new mixed team event is added.

Archery: the compound mixed team will appear at the Games for the first time.

📌 Extra note: Shooting at LA28 also includes a mixed team trap event (alongside mixed team air rifle and air pistol).
Why this matters for RAEX 🔥

For us, mixed crews aren’t a trend—they’re a practical way to make sport more inclusive, more accessible, and more team-driven, on and off the water.

💬 Question for you: which sports would you like to see adopting more mixed formats—also at local level?

Kyrgios beats Sabalenka in 'Battle of the Sexes' showdown 28/12/2025

Today tennis headlines sparked a fresh conversation about gender, rules, and respect in sport: in a “Battle of the Sexes” exhibition, Nick Kyrgios beat Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets. Sabalenka’s takeaway said it all: “I fought hard — but tennis is different against a man.”
And that’s the point: different doesn’t mean “less.”
It means context matters — opportunities, formats, rules, and how we value performances.
At RAEX – Rowing Against Exclusion, we’re not interested in “battles.” We build spaces where everyone belongs: mixed crews, shared roles, mutual trust, and the same right to train, improve, and feel part of the team.
💬 What do you think: “battle” or a chance to talk seriously about equity and inclusion in sport?

Kyrgios beats Sabalenka in 'Battle of the Sexes' showdown Nick Kyrgios beat Aryna Sabalenka 6‑3 6‑3 on Sunday in a "Battle of the Sexes" exhibition match billed as a modern take on Billie Jean King's famous win over Bobby Riggs over 50 years ago, but one that ignited controversy over its relevance and meaning.

❄️ Winter rowing on the water: when inclusion becomes strength 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️
Winter isn’t “the hard season”. It’s the season where you truly build.
On the water, in a mixed crew, the cold becomes a quiet coach: it asks for focus, clean technique, and real teamwork.
✅ Sharper technique (controlled rates, attention to details)
✅ A stronger aerobic base (consistency that carries you into spring)
✅ True teamwork (timing, trust, communication)
✅ Inclusion in action: when we row together, differences in age, gender, and experience become a resource—not a barrier.
In RAEX – Rowing Against Exclusion, every winter session is a message:
sport is for everyone, and we grow stronger together. 💙
📌 What does winter training give you most—energy, calm, or crew spirit?

AI on the pontoon? Yes, please. 🤖🚣‍♀️
At RAEX – Rowing Against Exclusion we see artificial intelligence as a teammate for inclusion, not an enemy. If we use it consciously, AI can help us:

- give more people a voice (supporting translations, surveys, reflections),
- spot patterns we might miss (who gets to steer, who sits stroke, who speaks up),
- make our communication more inclusive, with images and stories that really show mixed crews and diverse bodies in the boat.

Every inclusive crew photo we post, every story of a female stroke seat, every RAEX blog about gender and sport becomes training data for a fairer digital future.
Oars in the water, code in the background, same direction: less exclusion, more space for everyone. 💙
