Massimo Mele: From the Construction Site to the Heart of Milan

Holding a degree in Building Engineering & Architecture and immersed in BIM since 2015, Massimo serves as BIM Manager, Project Manager, and Head of BIMON’s Milan office. He coordinates teams, shapes digital strategies, and upholds the highest standards across our most ambitious projects.

Beyond work, Massimo is a dedicated basketball player, passionate about graphic design, and art history enthusiast!

When Rome's cultural future meets digital innovation

We're working on something special with Fondazione MAXXI - the expansion of the national contemporary art museum in Rome that's set to transform how cultural spaces interact with the city.

The Grande MAXXI project involves the creation of a new multifunctional and sustainable building and a new urban park, a single integrated complex that will combine research, education, restoration and nature. Think botanical gardens on the roof, sustainable design and spaces that breathe with the city around them.

Our role? We're handling the BIM management across all design phases, training the museum staff, and making sure every digital detail aligns with the project's ambitious vision. From architectural teams to landscape designers, we're coordinating the digital backbone that makes this complex project possible.

MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo

As our Project BIM Coordinator (MEP), you will lead technical and digital coordination for large-scale building services projects, acting as the discipline focal point within the design team.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Collaboration: Work with Senior Designers to define solutions, generate layouts, produce drawings, technical reports, and quantity take-offs.
Planning & Monitoring: Develop ex*****on plans covering resource allocation, scheduling, cost estimates, and monitoring.
Team Coordination: Assign tasks and deadlines, manage disruptions, facilitate meetings, and support team modeling efforts like plant rooms and parametric objects.
Quality Assurance: Perform periodic checks, clash detection, supervise deliverables, enforce BIM standards, and coordinate with admin teams.
Ex*****on Strategy: Ensure proper application of clash management procedures and consistent BIM ex*****on.

Skills & Experience

2+ years in MEP design and BIM project coordination
Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Solibri
Strong analysis and verification of MEP systems
Skilled with Microsoft Office
English proficiency at B2 level; additional languages are a plus

Preferred: BIM Coordinator certification (UNI 11337‑7)

From ground to gate: BIM innovation at Bologna Airport

We're excited to share our latest collaboration with Bologna Airport (Aeroporti di Bologna) for their BHS Building Extension and New Schengen Gaterooms project.

Supported BIM documentation processes
Developed Information Management Plans
Created automated verification tools using Python scripts
Worked with both native models and open IFC formats

Valentina Liguori: Building the Future, One Digital Layer at a Time

Valentina joined Bimon in 2022, bringing with her years of experience in architectural design, BIM coordination, and digital project delivery. Today, she plays a key role as Project BIM Manager, guiding strategic consulting on high-impact infrastructure,especially in the airport industry.

Her journey from Rome Tre University to leading Digital Twin integration is a story of passion, precision, and progress. Through BIM, IoT, and data analytics, Valentina is helping redefine maintenance and sustainability strategies for tomorrow’s assets.

Outside the office? You’ll find her high above the ground in aerial gymnastics, or exploring new destinations.
