L'8 Giugno 1999 muore, a 75 anni, il popolare presentatore radiotelevisivo romano Corrado Mantoni.
Corrado ha lasciato la sua firma, sia come presentatore sia come autore, su molti dei più memorabili programmi televisivi italiani a partire dagli anni Cinquanta, divenendo uno dei personaggi televisivi più amati di sempre.
È per questo considerato uno dei padri fondatori della televisione in Italia, insieme a Mike Bongiorno e Raimondo Vianello.
Pochi conoscono però la sua importantissima carriera radiofonica: fu lui, ad esempio, che annunciò via radio eventi storici come la fine della seconda guerra mondiale o la vittoria della repubblica al referendum del 2 giugno 1946.

🇬🇧 ON THIS DAY IN ROME
On June 8th 1999, at the age of 75, the popular Roman radio and television presenter Corrado Mantoni died.
Corrado left his signature, both as presenter and author, on many of the most memorable Italian television programs since the fifties, becoming one of the most beloved television personalities ever.
For this reason he is considered one of the founding fathers of television in Italy, together with Mike Bongiorno and Raimondo Vianello.
Few, however, know of his very important radio career: it was he, for example, who announced historical events such as the end of the Second World War or the victory of the Republic in the referendum on 2 June 1946.
