E' uscito jQuery 2.0, che tra le altre novità toglie il supporto a IE 6/7/8, rendendo la libreria più snella (il nuovo file minimizzato pesa circa il 12% in meno).

Continueranno comunque a portare avanti il branch 1.x per chi volesse mantenere la compatibilità con tali browser.
