Haemo_Pal

The Haemo_Pal community of health professionals, experts and patients would like to express their most heartfelt and sincere condolences to dr Osama Najar's colleagues and family. With immense sadness we received the news that dr Osama is no longer with us. He will be greatly missed, not only as a valuable colleague but no doubt also as a friend, putting a smile and a sheer human touch to all our meetings and work commitments.

May Allah ease your pain and fill your heart with peace and patience.

The Italian Federation of Thalassemias, Rare Hemoglobinopathies and Sickle Cell Disease (United ETS) promptly responded to an urgent appeal from the Palestinian patient community, represented by the Thalassemia Palestinian Friends Society (جمعية اصدقاء مرضى الثلاسيميا-فلسطين TPFS-Palestine), with a generous donation of medical devices for the infusion of iron-chelating agents and related disposable supplies, to help address a severe local shortage.

Heartfelt thanks from the coordination group of the Haemo_PAL project (AID 11719), funded by the Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo and coordinated by the National Blood Centre (Centro Nazionale Sangue), whose on field personnel delivered the donation despite the immense challenges posed by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Special thanks also go to the FORANEMIA Foundation, a Haemo_PAL partner, which supported and contributed to the success of the initiative.

Through this generous act, a strong bond based on shared goals has been established between UNITED and TPFS, reaffirming the transnational brotherhood among patients across different regions and the steadfast commitment to sharing knowledge, expertise, and best practices for the protection of patients.

We received confirmation that the humanitarian shipment of PDMPs, leaving Italy on July 19th, has safely reached the West Bank.
We hope that these life-saving medicines can be readily available to the local haemophilia patients community.
