Il primo febbraio 2021 è stato arrestato il capo di stato de facto del Myanmar, insieme ai membri del suo partito, la Lega Nazionale per la Democrazia. A guidare il golpe è stato il capo delle forze armate birmane che ha assunto, in seguito, il ruolo di capo del governo. Per comprendere le motivazioni di questo putsch dobbiamo avere ben chiara l’intera storia della Birmania, caratterizzata da conflitti etnici continui, da un lento processo di decolonizzazione e da governi coercitivi che hanno continuamente frenato la crescita del paese.

After 9 hours, the nearby city of Kahramanmaras was shaken by 7.6. Experts stated that there were the biggest earthquakes seen in the last century.
