🧬 HPV y salud cervical

Una revisión sistemática independiente, realizada por un grupo danés de investigación reconocido en el ámbito del HPV y publicada en BMC Women’s Health, analizó la evidencia científica disponible sobre el uso de un gel vaginal a base de Coriolus versicolor en mujeres con virus del papiloma humano (HPV) y displasia cervical. El trabajo se basa en una búsqueda sistemática de la literatura internacional y en el análisis crítico de estudios clínicos en humanos.

📊 Sus resultados confirman y refuerzan las conclusiones de un metaanálisis publicado en 2025 en The Lancet, que ya reconocía el interés clínico de Papilocare como opción coadyuvante en la gestión del HPV.

Procare Health is extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Luis Serrano (HM-Hospitales Madrid, Gabinete Velázquez), one of the principal investigators of the PALOMA clinical trials, has presented the latest clinical results of Papilocare® in an in-congress oral communication delivered in the plenary session of the World HPV Congress in Bangkok, to a full audience.

The PALOMA II clinical trial has confirmed—with high clinical relevance and full consistency with the previous PALOMA I study—an 88% clearance rate of high-risk oncogenic HPV strains after 6 months of treatment with Papilocare® vaginal gel in women over 30 years of age presenting low-grade cervical lesions associated with HPV infection.

Importantly, the presentation also highlighted the sustained effect of Papilocare®, showing continued high-risk HPV clearance after 12 months, including a 6-month follow-up period without treatment.

These results represent a significant step forward in understanding the clinical benefits of Papilocare® among HPV-infected women, reinforcing its relevance as a valuable therapeutic option to help women fight HPV infection as an adjuvant treatment during the internationally recommended “wait and see” period. They also provide strong scientific credibility and validation for the continued research efforts undertaken by Procare Health to explore the full potential of Papilocare® in the global battle against HPV.

In addition to the PALOMA presentation, Procare Health contributed five other communications to the Congress, including a quality-of-life study among HPV-infected patients and promising clinical data supporting a potential new indication in post-conization management.

Valencia, 26 de marzo de 2025. Ayer, con motivo del Día Mundial de la Prevención del Cáncer de Cuello Uterino, el laboratorio Procare Health celebró una sesión científica en la Fundación Ibercaja de Valencia, dirigida a ginecólogos de la Comunidad Valenciana, para presentar los resultados de su segundo ensayo clínico Paloma.

El estudio Paloma 2, aleatorizado, randomizado y controlado con práctica clínica habitual (espera vigilada), se llevó a cabo en 19 hospitales españoles, entre ellos el Hospital La Fe de Valencia y el Hospital General de Alicante. Participaron 164 mujeres, con una media de edad de 41,13 años, todas positivas para VPH de alto riesgo y con lesiones cervicales de bajo grado.

Las pacientes fueron divididas entre un grupo control y un grupo de tratamiento con Papilocare®, con una pauta intensiva: tres meses de aplicación diaria del gel vaginal, seguidos de tres meses en días alternos.

Los resultados presentados consolidaron la evidencia científica de Papilocare® como una opción terapéutica no invasiva y eficaz para el aclaramiento del VPH de alto riesgo, representando un avance significativo en el tratamiento de lesiones cervicales asociadas a este virus.

Esta sesión no solo ha reafirmado el compromiso de Procare Health con la innovación científica y la salud, sino también con el bienestar social de la Comunidad Valenciana.
