So many Highlights from but a real favourite was the moment of GOLD for Team Canada’s Women’s Team Pursuit. Such a sport of synergy and strategy and team work.

Felt a little like our had our own Team Pursuit going and what a crew to cross the finish line with.

An unforgettable Games!

One week of competition down.

Goes fast!

I’m a bit beginner’s mind about the Olympics, having covered only two.

I’m struck by how moved I am by the falls and the dashed hopes. Then the getting up again, immediately.

Hearts laid bare in front of the world.

No amount of training can prepare for Olympic unpredictability, a kind of undefined element that feels unique to the Games.

No wonder the avalanche of emotion when it does work out.

On the street, I’ve also been pleasantly surprised by the Olympic superfans - the bucket-listers and pin collectors, the volunteers .. who all just seem HAPPY TO BE HERE. There is no context or comparison, just a can’t-believe kind of smile that says - I did it!

Covering the Games feels like you’re on a roller coaster that lasts for weeks. And depending on the vantage point, it’s a different experience.

Up close and personal with the fans and the athletes, so far, it’s been a thrill.
