PHOTOBOOK OF THE DAY 📚

OK/BW (Oklahoma Black-and-White) – Jason Lee
Self, 2026

Being based in Italy has quite a few advantages - including the fact that we get advance copies of Jason Lee's new book! Woooo! 🇮🇹📖

OK/BW is Jason Lee’s sixth monograph and features 75 black-and-white images from the collection of photographs commissioned by Tulsa’s Philbrook Museum of Art and made throughout Oklahoma between June and November 2018 with 35mm, 120, and 4×5 color and black-and-white films. A color companion, OK/CL, will be released in 2029.

The whole work has been on view from June to December 2019 in the museum’s former satellite location, Philbrook Downtown (now Bob Dylan Center), in an exhibition called OK: Jason Lee Photographs.

Jason Lee is an American photographer, actor, and former professional skateboarder. He first gained recognition in the 1980s and 1990s skateboarding world as a pro skater and co-founder of Stereo Skateboards, before moving into acting and becoming known for films and television. His time on film sets introduced him more deeply to cameras and cinematography, eventually leading him to pursue photography seriously, especially through film-based images of the American landscape and road.

Lee’s photographs of Oklahoma explore overlooked landscapes and remnants, finding beauty in the banal. Through everyday urban and rural scenes, Lee connects local places to a broader American experience, placing his work within the tradition of American road photography, focusing on mood, atmosphere, and the quiet poetry of ordinary places.

MULHOUSE PHOTOGRAPHY BIENNAL: SEDIMENTATION(S)

The 7th edition of the Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse, opening on Friday, June 5th, invites us to explore terrestrial and mental geographies, using notions of sedimentation, stratification, matter-flux and the plasticity of collective and individual memories.

Micamera is the Biennale’s bookshop - and we will bring TIP - The Italian Photobook, with a selection of titles, that Giulia Zorzi will present in a talk on Sunday at 4pm. 📚📆

I MAKE BOOKS, THEREFORE I AM. Jenia Fridlyand on The Agency. A conversation with Giulia Zorzi on The Agency.

The Agency is the new imprint initiated by Jenia Fridlyand and John Gossage, printed by Steidl and conceived as a finite series of fifteen books, each one a self-reflexive work that engages with its own making. Curated, designed, and produced by a circle of photography devotees - fanatics, mavericks, and eccentrics - the project is envisioned as a kind of concept album: fifteen “tracks,” released as a limited edition, after which the imprint will come to a close. On Sunday, 7 June at 4.00pm first book launch in Mulhouse! ✨🌆📆

RARE BOOK 📚✨

Amor – Kate Bellm
Hatje-Cantz, 2019

The culmination of ten years of travels by British photographer Kate Bellm (born 1987), spent with friends and lovers swimming, kissing, and skateboarding. Bellm’s pure and evocative photography seduces and transports the viewer into an otherworldly psychedelic paradise, filled with unusual and vibrant landscapes, bizarre cacti, warm and hazy vistas, trembling palm trees, and colossal rock formations. Her stunning nudes construct intoxicating narratives that radiate a romantic and bohemian alchemy.

Like a young, feminine Helmut Newton, Bellm portrays femininity with allure, combining elegance, sensuality, and female empowerment. In friends and lovers, Kate finds her models and muses: this allows her to work with a sense of spontaneity and ease that takes on the charm of youthful freedom. Each image leads the viewer into a new road trip or a new sun-drenched adventure.

PHOTOBOOK OF THE DAY 📚

JUNO – Louise Honée
Origini edizioni, 2026
In Juno, Louise Honée translates her immediate natural surroundings into an inner landscape. She explores the fleeting beauty in the passing of time by slowly capturing moments where emotion and landscape converge. Guided by the cyclical rhythm of the seasons, Juno becomes a reflection on memory, transience, and the gentle promise of new life. In this poetic contemplation, her feminine presence- like a mother, a lover, a young girl and a woman at the same time, as goddess Juno was- intertwines as a reminder that everything moves, fades, and begins anew.
