Flavio Favelli is part of the exhibition "Di quadro in quadro. L'arte della citazione" at Mart, Rovereto.
The exhibition explores the theme of citation as an ongoing dialogue between past and present, where artists from different eras reinterpret and transform themes, images, and ideas. Through a journey that brings together great masters and contemporary authors, a network of references and comparisons emerges across art history, highlighting affinities, legacies, and new interpretations.

Even the reference to the Barbapapà characters and the stories in which they try to protect trees and gardens from the advance of bulldozers does not appear here as a simple nostalgic quote, but rather as the resurfacing of a form of primitive ecological imagination—only seemingly naïve—in which nature is perceived as something alive, vulnerable, and deeply bound to the emotional sphere.
