Today’s diary is about my trip to the beautiful village of Varenna — just a 1h30 drive from Milan 🚗.

🅿️ I parked near Villa Monastero (paid parking, starting from €2/hour — very convenient).

🌊 Walking along the Lover’s Walk promenade felt like stepping into a postcard — colorful houses, flowers, and the lake shining in the sun.

🏛️ I skipped Villa Monastero since I was with kids (they wouldn’t enjoy it 😅), but I recommend it for its peaceful gardens by the water.

🏰 Normally, you can climb up to Castello di Vezio for breathtaking views, but the road was closed during my visit.

🏖️ There are a few little beaches with rocks where you can swim and grab a snack — perfect for families.

🍹 If you have more time, you can just sit at a bar or restaurant with a lake view. A simple spritz or Aperol can cost €18 😅 — but with the right company, it’s worth every moment. ❤️

⛴️ Don’t miss the ferry to Bellagio, only 15 minutes away, to enjoy even more of Lake Como’s magic.
