Some locations stop you in your tracks the moment you arrive.

Castello di Badia in Poggibonsi is one of them. Hidden behind a huge gate, up a winding road, this fairy tale castle feels like stepping into another universe entirely. I had the absolute pleasure of cooking for Jamaal and his beautiful family and friends here recently, and honestly, it was a privilege.

The gardens, the stone walls, the light. And then there was Nicola, the owner, who kept me company in the kitchen all through prep, making me laugh and making the whole experience feel warm and special.

Oh, and one of the little ones had very strong opinions about the pasta. No complaints from this chef. 🧡
