3 Simple Steps To Get Pregnant

Secondary Infertility — The Exact Tests You Need to Request and the Questions to Ask Your Doctor.
If you have had a baby before and are now struggling to conceive again — these are the specific tests you need.
Not the general fertility panel. These specific ones.
Secondary infertility requires a different investigation than primary infertility.Because the question is not "why have you never conceived?"The question is "what has changed since you last did?"And answering that question requires specific tests that most standard fertility panels do not automatically include. Here is exactly what to ask for. 👇FOR YOU:
✅ AMH — Anti-Müllerian HormoneMeasures your remaining egg reserve. Can be done any day of your cycle. Even if you had a normal AMH before your first pregnancy — test again. Ovarian reserve declines with every passing year and with each pregnancy.
✅ FSH and LH on cycle day 2 to 3 Pituitary hormones that drive ovulation. Elevated FSH suggests declining ovarian reserve. Imbalanced LH suggests PCOS or ovulation disorders.
✅ Progesterone on cycle day 21 Confirms that ovulation actually occurred in that cycle. Many women with secondary infertility are not ovulating consistently — even if they were before.
✅ TSH — Thyroid Stimulating HormoneAsk for your exact number. For fertility — TSH should be below 2.5 mIU/L. Pregnancy permanently changes thyroid function in some women and post-pregnancy hypothyroidism is a significant but frequently missed cause of secondary infertility.
✅ Prolactin Elevated prolactin — sometimes caused by breastfeeding hormones that persist — directly suppresses ovulation. Many women do not realise their prolactin remained elevated long after they stopped breastfeeding.
✅ HSG — HysterosalpingogramAn X-ray procedure that checks whether your fallopian tubes are open and clear.
This is THE most important test specifically for secondary infertility because pelvic infections, post-delivery complications, and previous procedures can cause tubal scarring with zero obvious symptoms.
✅ Transvaginal UltrasoundChecks for new fibroids, ovarian cysts, PCOS appearance, and — critically for women with previous C-sections — a uterine niche evaluation.
✅ Uterine Cavity Assessment: A saline infusion sonogram or hysteroscopy checks the inside of the uterine cavity for scarring, polyps, or adhesions that could prevent implantation. Especially important if you have had a C-section, D&C, or myomectomy.FOR YOUR HUSBAND:
✅ Full Semen Analysis WITH DNA Fragmentation: Not the basic one. The comprehensive one that includes DNA fragmentation testing. His s***m quality has had years to change since your last pregnancy. This test is non-negotiable.
✅ Hormone Panel Testosterone, FSH, LH — to rule out hormonal changes that affect s***m production.
THE QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR:Take this list to your next appointment:
📋 "What has likely changed in my reproductive health since my last pregnancy?"
📋 "Can we specifically check for uterine scarring from my previous delivery?"
📋 "Is my TSH below 2.5 mIU/L — the fertility-specific threshold?"
📋 "Can my husband have a semen analysis that specifically includes DNA fragmentation testing?"
📋 "Has my prolactin been checked since I stopped breastfeeding?"
📋 "Can we do an HSG to confirm my tubes are clear?"A word about pushing for these tests:
In Nigeria and in many healthcare systems — doctors sometimes move too quickly to reassure women with secondary infertility.
"You have done it before so you can do it again — just keep trying."That advice wastes months and sometimes years.
You have the right to ask for a proper investigation.
You have the right to understand what has changed.
And you have the right to a clear plan based on real answers.
The Fertility Blueprint walks you through every stage of this investigation — what to test, when to test, what the results mean, and what questions to ask. It was built for exactly this moment.📲 Get it now — message me on 👉📲 WhatsApp: wa.me/2348162737734
