Certification is fully integrated into business strategy and governance, even for independent hotels.

It is not primarily about communicating sustainability positioning, but about operations — providing concrete tools to improve daily management, processes, and overall efficiency.

Recent European and Italian regulations, including the Green Claims Decree adopted on 2025 November 5, now require that any sustainability-related communication is verified by accredited third-party bodies, or that hotels can demonstrate a series of highly complex scientific requirements.

Accredited ISO/IEC 17065 Certifications such as DCA ESG or GSTC represent a reliable way for independent hotels to be compliant while strengthening operational performance.
