Motoxracing with S97 Racing

As the WorldSBK Championship heads to the UK for Round 8, on 10–12 July, we cannot forget what Donington Park circuit means to us.

It was here, on 29 May 2016, that we celebrated our first podium, as claimed a brilliant third place in the FIM Superstock 1000 championship.

Reflecting on that unforgettable result, Team Principal Sandro Carusi said:

“I am very happy for the whole team. We never gave up during the difficult times, and our hard work was rewarded with this third-place finish.”

Ten years later, we return to Donington with the same determination, the same passion, and the same belief that every step forward is earned through hard work, perseverance, and never giving up.

🆕📰 Two Difficult Races at Misano for Sofuoglu and Rato

The seventh round of the WorldSBK Championship came to an end today at the Misano World Circuit, one of the two home events featured on the 2026 championship calendar for the Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team.

Today, under hot and sunny conditions, the riders of Sandro Carusi’s team competed in the Superpole Race, held over a distance of 10 laps, and in Race 2, which concluded the program of the Romagna round.

In the sprint race, Bahattin secured 16th position, while Mattia crossed the finish line not far behind his teammate in 17th place.

Race 2 got underway in the afternoon with very high temperatures that made conditions particularly challenging for the riders. Rato made a good start and steadily worked his way up through the field to finish 17th. Sofuoglu’s race was less fortunate. After a strong start, he ran off track on the second lap and subsequently crashed in the gravel trap. Fortunately, he escaped without injury, but was unable to continue the race.

Rato continued his learning process and came close to the points-paying positions, while unfortunately Sofuoglu’s race ended with a crash. Beyond the results on track, it was a wonderful opportunity to meet many of our sponsors and supporters.”

I am happy with my pace and with the potential we demonstrated, and I am convinced that we will come back stronger starting from the next race. For Race 2, we made some changes to the bike that allowed me to ride better and finish just outside the points-scoring positions.
