In his column for The Sun, former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson spoke about Hamilton’s Ferrari debut, unveiling his countryman does not live near Ferrari’s HQ in Maranello and arrives to the factory in a “Fiat helicopter”.

🗣️ “You could say Lewis Hamilton wants a record-breaking eighth world championship before he retires and has moved to Ferrari because he thinks they will have the fastest car this year. Maybe he has a point. According to the rumour mill, the car is very fast,” Clarkson said.

“But if he is so keen on that eighth world title, you would think he would have come to the factory on the first day to learn the secrets of the car and how to make the most of its huge arsenal of racing tricks,” he added.

“Instead, he appeared in a suit-and-tie SUV and posed for photos before speaking to fans, under the watchful eye of a video drone that was fortunately present to capture the moment. Then there was a tour of the team’s headquarters where we saw the eager technicians and applause in slow motion. And then he finally took to the track, in a three-year-old F1 Ferrari. I heard that his new home is not near the team headquarters. It’s in Milan and he doesn’t even drive a Ferrari car, instead using Fiat’s helicopter,” Clarkson said.

Rear Wing Comparison – McLaren FP1 2025

In Free Practice 1 at Montreal, McLaren tested two different rear wing setups between their drivers:

● : High downforce setup
Steeper wing angle = better cornering grip, but more drag and lower top speed.

● : Low downforce setup
Flatter wing angle = higher straight-line speed, but less rear-end stability in corners.

Ahead of his official F1 debut, Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has passed his driver’s license!

On his Instagram story, the young Italian posted the picture above with the text: “Mission completed”.

In the past, Verstappen too drove in an F1 car before he had his official driver’s license.
