: Tensions in West Asia escalated sharply on Monday after Iran launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks toward the United Arab Emirates, targeting key port and oil infrastructure, according to official statements and regional reports.

The UAE’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that multiple aerial threats were detected approaching the country, with most intercepted over territorial waters. Authorities said loud explosions heard across parts of the UAE were the result of air defense systems neutralising incoming missiles.

Regional security sources indicated that several projectiles were aimed at strategic maritime and energy assets, including port zones and oil-linked facilities.

Three Indian nationals were injured after a drone strike reportedly linked to Iran hit an oil facility in the Fujairah region of the United Arab Emirates, triggering a fire and emergency response operations. Authorities rushed to control the blaze and secure the affected area, while concerns over regional security have intensified following the incident.
