Parking Video Library (Tehran-Berlin)
Established in 2004 after the mega project ‘Deep Depression’, Parking Video Library collects, preserves, and updates works by Iranian and international artists in new media, sound, performance, and interactive art. Dedicated to education and noncommercial promotion, it showcases works through screenings, expert talks, and domestic and international exhibitions. Despite the closure of the connected Parkingallery Projects’ gallery space in 2014 (founded in 1998 by art students in Tehran) the video archive and independent platform and project space Parking Video Library remains active. The founders continue to sustain the archive by collaborating with institutions and collections worldwide.

"Altering Tensions" is a program putting together intriguing and evocative pieces focused on body, space, and trauma. The idea of shifting dynamics or pressures, which resonates well with the themes. Trauma often involves shifts or disruptions in the body and space—whether physical, psychological, or emotional—and "tensions" hints at conflict or strain. "Altering" adds a layer of transformation, which could reflect the way trauma reshapes one's relationship to space and the body over time.
While “Altering Tensions” leaves space open to interpretation yet inviting us to a deeper engagement with a certain tension within the language itself, which mirrors the dilemma of the screening video performances and documentations instead of the presenting the actions themselves. “Altering tensions” wishes to strikes a good challenge between being suggestive without being overly explicit, while allowing each work to speak for itself within this conceptual frame, offer an optional and less visible thread, linking various instances which mindscapes, maps, urban interactions dissolves into bodies in contrast with nature, architecture in the very peculiar way, a journey from personal to public and reverse.
