Core Analyst Vacancy

For a client in Erbil who is a service company providing a comprehensive suite of services for the international oil and gas industry, ranging from core and fluid analysis, geology & geophysics, geothermal evaluations, petroleum engineering and (EOR) development services with more than 3500 projects worldwide.

In connection with a major project in Iraq they are looking for an experienced Core Analyst to support its core handling activities on contract basis.

In this role you will act as companies representative to the client. Due to current Covid related travel restrictions, this role is only open to applicants who already live in Iraq or are not subject to these travel restrictions. It is also paramount that the applicant is available on short notice

Further responsibilities are:

• Advise the client in the set-up of the core handling facilities
• Evaluate the suitability of the laboratory equipment and the correct installation thereof
• Train and supervise a team of core analysts

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ in depth experience in core handling (i.e. core slabbing, core gamma logging, Dean Stark, taking preserved samples, plugging & core photography), gained preferably with an international core analysis laboratory
• Experience supervising and training junior staff in all aspects of core handling
• Experience in setting up and operating core handling equipment
• A professional attitude and good communication skills are essential;
• Very good command of the English language
• Good computer skills (Office)
• Can travel to Iraq without Covid related travel restrictions
• Availability on short notice
