जन्माष्टमी का दिन... लखनऊ...गोमती नगर विपुल खंड...में 3 साल का मासूम कार्तिक खेलते-खेलते ऊपर से लगभग 20 फीट नीचे लोहे की ग्र‍िल पर ग‍िर गया।

नुकीली लोहे की ग्र‍िल उसके स‍िर के आरपार हो गयी...

वेल्‍डर आया.... ग्र‍िल को काटा गया...

पर‍िजन मासूम को लेकर प्राइवेट अस्‍पताल गये। 15 लाख रुपए का बजट बता द‍िया गया।

आधी रात न‍िराश पर‍िजन बच्चे को लेकर लखनऊ के किंग जॉर्ज मेडिकल यूनिवर्सिटी पहुँचे...

नन्हे सिर को चीरती हुई लोहे की छड़ किसी निर्दयी तकदीर की तरह आर-पार हो चुकी थी।

डॉक्टरों ने जब यह देखा, तो कुछ क्षण के लिए वहाँ भी सन्नाटा छा गया।

इसी खामोशी के बीच आगे बढ़ते हैं....

डॉ.अंकुर बजाज..

सर्जन के हाथ में स्केलपल नहीं, बल्कि साहस का संकल्प था। और उसी साहस के सहारे वह ऑपरेशन थियेटर में प्रवेश करते हैं। बच्चे की जिंदगी उनके सामने है, जैसे कोई दीपक आंधी में कांप रहा है और उन्हें उसे बुझने से बचाना है।

लेक‍िन डॉक्‍टर अंकुर के ल‍िए यह आसान नहीं था। आसान भी कैसे होता। थोड़ी देर पहले ही तो वे अपनी माँ के साथ सबसे कठिन वक्त में थे। माँ को दिल का दौरा पड़ा था। कार्डियोलॉजी में इलाज चल रहा था। 3 स्टेंट पड़े और हालत नाजुक बनी थी। एक तरफ माँ की साँसें अटकी थीं तो दूसरी तरफ कार्तिक का जीवन लोहे की छड़ में उलझा था।

लेकिन डॉक्टर बजाज ने उसे चुना, ज‍िस पेशे को धरती का सबसे सुंदर माना जाता है। आधी रात ट्रामा सेंटर पहुँचे...छः घंटे से ज्‍यादा चली यह जटिल सर्जरी...जिसका हर पल जोखिम से भरा हुआ था...हर क्षण धैर्य की परीक्षा...

और आखिरकार वह लोहे की छड़ को बच्चे के शरीर से अलग कर दिया गया।

डॉ. अंकुर बजाज और उनकी टीम ने यह साबित कर दिया कि डॉक्टर सिर्फ शरीर नहीं जोड़ते, वे टूटते हुए रिश्तों को, डगमगाते हुए भविष्य को, और डूबते हुए भरोसे को भी बचा लेते हैं। डॉक्‍टर डॉ. बीके ओझा, डॉ. अंकुर बजाज, डॉ. सौरभ रैना, डॉ. जेसन और डॉ. बसु के अलावा एनेस्थीसिया विभाग के डॉ. कुशवाहा, डॉ. मयंक सचान और डॉ. अनीता ने असभंव को संभव कर द‍िखाया, वह भी 25 हजार के खर्चे पर।

आज जब हम डॉक्टरों को महज फीस और समय से जोड़कर देखते हैं, तब हमें याद रखना चाहिए कि कहीं कोई डॉक्टर ऐसे ही किसी अंधेरे में रोशनी की लौ बनकर खड़ा है।
