Samatva - Finding The Balance

April felt like a month of learning, awareness, and insights…
Completing a year of the Beginners Module in Somatic Experiencing® and sitting with the soma long enough to notice what shifts after years of autopilot. Grateful for a cohort of 50+ people, many from the younger generation stepping into mental health work with sincerity and courage. There was something deeply hopeful about that…
From experiencing somatic therapy with SEPs from different parts of the world, to the serendipity of being part of a demo with Berns Galloway, April kept asking me to slow down and listen differently…
And then came the existential workshop with Aruna Gopakumar and School of You. Sitting with questions instead of rushing toward answers. Listening to the echoes of Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre, Irvin Yalom, and Friedrich Nietzsche.
Somewhere in all of it felt like an invitation to reconnect with the fool in me. To ask, when I feel stuck, can I still meet life with a little lightness, innocence, and curiosity?…thanks to Meghna for these Journaling journeys…
May may be of spaciousness, slowness and magic ☺️

At some point, the questions stop being background noise…
What’s the meaning of all this?
What is my purpose?
Why don’t we talk about death?
Do I truly have freedom or just the illusion of it?
Why does this loneliness feel so particular, so unshared?
The questions get louder. The answers don’t come…there is this quiet, discontent that settles in.
For a while, I thought something was wrong with me. Then I sat with Aruna and The School of You in their Existential workshop…a realisation this is simply what it means to be human… Not a midlife crisis! but a progression.
I came away with much to sit with. However, what stayed with me most was this idea of existential isolation…the knowing that no one can ever fully enter my inner world. Just naming it felt like relief.
Aruna Gopakumar holds space the way the best facilitators do, through story, through presence, through the kind of honesty that makes me feel less alone in my own questions.
I am hoping to start a circle of existential conversations soon, to continue the exploring and being curious about our selves…

A lovely friend recently mentioned to me in our coffee conversations “You are talking about taking care of everyone around but who takes care of you?” That made me pause, take a deep breath and realise that all I was sharing was for the well being of loved ones, home, clients … where did I fit in myself? So, stop for a moment, take a deep breath and reflect if you find yourself in the same space…this offering of Mindful Coaching is about non judgment, meaningful conversations, moments to rest, practices to find your gravity amidst uncertainty, exhaustion, and doing…[ Coaching Conversations, Mindfulness, Restful, Meditation, Neuroplasticity, Awareness]
