“No matter how powerful, wealthy, beautiful, or famous a person becomes, every soul will one day taste death. The grave does not recognize status, luxury, followers, or worldly success. Allah says in the Qur’an:

‘Every soul shall taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection.’
Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:185

This dunya is temporary. Cars, money, beauty, fame, and trends remain behind, while our deeds travel with us into the grave. The one who remembered Allah, prayed sincerely, repented often, helped others, and lived with taqwa is the one who truly succeeded.

Many people spend years preparing for careers, weddings, and worldly goals, yet forget to prepare for the Akhirah, the only life that never ends. Death can come at any age, to any person, at any moment. That is why Islam teaches us to soften our hearts with the remembrance of death, not to depress ourselves, but to awaken ourselves before it is too late.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“Remember often the destroyer of pleasures: death.”

So before the grave becomes our home, let us return to Allah with sincere repentance, protect our prayers, leave sins behind, and fill our lives with deeds that will benefit us after death. In the end, only faith and righteous deeds will matter.
