Anantnag Police Strikes Narcotics Ecosystem: 12 Kanals Forest Land Worth ₹50+ Lakh Retrieved From Notorious Drug Peddlers in Kokernag

Anantnag, May 13: In continuation of its sustained crackdown against narcotics networks and criminal elements, Anantnag Police along with Revenue Department, and Forest Department carried out a major anti-encroachment drive in Watnad, Kokernag.

The joint operation specifically targeted individuals involved in various NDPS cases who had illegally encroached upon government forest land. During the drive, three encroachers were identified and a total of 12 kanals of illegally occupied forest land was successfully retrieved. The estimated government valuation of the retrieved land exceeds ₹50 lakh.

The details of the encroachers are as follows:

1. Sabzar Tantray S/O Abdul Gani Tantray R/O Angatnad, Watnad Kokernag — 4 Kanals

2. Farooq Ahmad Sheikh S/ O Abdul Khaliq Sheikh R/O Watnad, Kokernag — 4 Kanals

3. Sajad Ahmad Sheikh S/O Abdul Aziz Sheikh R/O Watnad, Kokernag — 4 Kanals

Following the operation, the entire retrieved land was cleared of encroachments and formally handed over to the Forest Department.

Anantnag Police reiterates its firm commitment towards dismantling the narcotics ecosystem, taking stringent action against offenders, and safeguarding public assets from illegal occupation.

Apni Party Additional General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah Visits Darul Uloom Fire Tragedy Site at Mattan Adda; Expresses Profound Grief

Anantnag May, 12: Apni Party Additional General Secretary, Er Hilal Shah, today visited Mattan Adda at Faizane Baba Hyder Reshi (Darul Uloom) to express his deepest condolences and assess the aftermath of a devastating fire incident that struck the religious institution. The tragic incident claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy and left two others injured.

During his visit, Shah met with the local residents, and the administration of the Darul Uloom to extend his unwavering solidarity during this hour of immense grief.

Expressing his profound sorrow over the incident, the Apni Party leader stated that words fall short to describe the pain of losing a young soul in such a devastating manner. He shared that his heart goes out to the parents and family members of the 12-year-old boy whose life was cut tragically short. He further emphasized that the Apni Party stands firmly with the grieving family and the Darul Uloom administration in this moment of unimaginable sorrow.

Shah offered special prayers for peace to the departed soul and prayed to the Almighty to grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. He also expressed his deep concern for the two individuals injured in the fire, praying for their swift and complete recovery.

Furthermore, the Apni Party Additional General Secretary strongly urged the district administration to intervene promptly. He appealed to the authorities to provide immediate and adequate ex-gratia relief to the family of the deceased child and to ensure the highest quality of free medical treatment and care for those injured in the incident. Additionally, he requested that the administration extend necessary financial assistance to the management of Faizane Baba Hyder Reshi (Darul Uloom) to facilitate the reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure.

Concluding his visit, party leader assured the locals that the Apni Party will continue to support them and will raise the matter with the relevant authorities to ensure that all necessary aid is delivered without delay.
