Proud moments for Choti Kashi, on its way to become a part of the National School of Drama's prestigious 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsav, International Theatre Festival of India 2026, the world’s largest festival. To be held across January and February 2026 in several Indian cities, and abroad, this global celebration of theatre has found a vibrant stage in Mandi at Hcrftr Mandi Himachal on 9th and 10th February 2026.
Last evening, the festival was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, Apurva Devgan, at Shakuntalam Auditorium, Satohal, Himachal Pradesh.
The inauguration was graced by Commissioner Municipal Corporation Rakesh Rathore and Professor Rakesh Sharma, (Department of History) Sardar Patel university as Guests of Honour. On 9th February 2026, Panchali, written by Nand Kishore Acharya and directed by renowned theatre stalwart and Sangeet Natak Academy Award recipient, Suresh Sharma, was staged. The performance left the audience spellbound, earning heartfelt applause and admiration.
The performance reaffirmed the timeless power of theatre to reflect society, spark dialogue, and leave a lasting impact.

राष्ट्रीय नाट्य विद्यालय, नई दिल्ली द्वारा आयोजित 25वें भारत रंग महोत्सव के अंतर्गत मंडी चैप्टर में हिमाचल सांस्कृतिक शोध संस्थान एवं रंगमंडल, मंडी (हि.प्र.) द्वारा महोत्सव के प्रथम दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर नाटक पांचाली का प्रभावशाली मंचन किया गया।
इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में श्री अपूर्व देवगन, उपायुक्त, मंडी (हिमाचल प्रदेश) उपस्थित रहे। उनके साथ आयुक्त, नगर निगम मंडी तथा डॉ. राकेश शर्मा, प्रोफेसर (इतिहास विभाग), सरदार पटेल विश्वविद्यालय विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में समारोह की गरिमा बढ़ा रहे थे।
सुरेश शर्मा के कुशल निर्देशन में प्रस्तुत यह कृति अभिनय, भाव-भंगिमाओं, मुद्राओं और प्रतीकों के सशक्त प्रयोग के माध्यम से एक प्रभावशाली नाट्य-रचना के रूप में उभरकर सामने आई। प्रस्तुति में पांचाली के चरित्र के माध्यम से नारी सशक्तिकरण की सशक्त झलक देखने को मिली। सभी कलाकारों का अभिनय अत्यंत सराहनीय रहा।
