D.K. Shivakumar officially became Karnataka's new Chief Minister and is now India's richest Chief Minister, with a declared net worth of roughly ₹1,413 crore.
His assets include a 2002 Toyota Qualis, gold, and expensive watches (like Hublot and Cartier).His wealth grew from about ₹840 crore in 2018.
He surpassed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu (around ₹931 crore).
His portfolio includes approximately ₹1,140 crore in immovable property (comprising extensive real estate and prime land holdings in Bengaluru and Mysuru) and ₹273 crore in movable assets. He also disclosed liabilities of about ₹265 crore.
His affidavit lists high-value assets, including a luxury watch collection featuring brands like Rolex, Hublot, and Cartier, alongside 2.18 kg of gold. Interestingly, he only has one older vehicle registered under his name—a Toyota Qualis.
Popularly known as "DKS," Shivakumar is an eight-time MLA from the Kanakapura constituency and has long been regarded as the Congress party's premier crisis manager and strategist in South India. In his new Cabinet, Shivakumar has retained control of critical portfolios, including Finance, Intelligence, and Cabinet Affairs.
