Despite showing a low unemployment rate in official records, the ground reality presents a different picture. The state faces multiple challenges such as lack of industries, hidden unemployment, and large-scale migration.

One of the major problems is high youth unemployment. Many educated young people are unable to find suitable jobs. As a result, they either remain unemployed or take up low-paying work. This creates frustration and slows down economic progress.

Another important issue is hidden unemployment. In rural areas, especially in agriculture, more people are engaged than required. These workers do not earn proper wages and have very low productivity. Though they are counted as employed, they do not have stable income.

Migration has become very common. Many workers leave Bihar and move to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Punjab in search of better employment. This shows the shortage of local job opportunities.
