The SME NIT Rourkela Student Chapter successfully organized a technical event featuring a series of insightful sessions and engaging activities. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sahendra Ram, Faculty Advisor, SME NITRKL, followed by an introduction to SME NITRKL and its membership benefits by Mr. G. D. N. Raju, President, SME NITRKL. Technical talks covered key topics such as the challenges in the deployment of continuous miners in Indian deep mines by Mr. Tamilprasanth M, Vice President, SME NITRKL, critical minerals by Mr. Kasinath, Research Scholar, and ventilation planning for underground coal mines using Ventsim by Mr. G. D. N. Raju, President, SME NITRKL.

The event also featured an interactive technical quiz, followed by an expert lecture by Prof. S. Jayanthu on transdisciplinary research for sustainable coal mining, and concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. The program provided valuable insights into modern mining practices and encouraged active student participation.

Apart from presenting his research paper, Mr. Abhishek gained a vital first-hand exposure to cutting-edge technological advancements, interacted with renowned professors, scientists, and industrial leaders from across the globe, and build an extensive professional network in the mining and metallurgy industry. 🤝🔬
