Why current remains same in electric circuit during series combination but voltage differs?
Ans: Rate of flow of charge is regarded as electric current. If 1 C of charge is flowing its mean we have 6×〖10〗^18 electrons are flowing in circuit. It’s obvious here the law of conservation of mass will come into action. It doesn’t matter how many resistors or of which value we use in series; the number of electrons will remain same. However, if we distribute a circuit (resistors connected in parallel), electrons will get distributed too (current will be different in each circuit) but again their overall count will remain same.
Voltage means work done in moving unit charge from one point to another. Resistors generally known to obstruct the flow of charges. Hence, different amount of work will be consumed in moving unit charge from one point to another through different resistors. Consequently, the voltage will be different.
