Is stoploss needed for long term investments?

Many people will say that no stoploss required for longterm, as all stocks go up in long term.

But we belive that stoploss is required in long term also as if we see companies that were in focus in 20's, most of those companies have not given good returns as market is changing constantly and companies which are doing good now may not be relavant in near future.

Hence we teach strategy which gives us a area where we have to get out of that stock.

Using which one can be saved from the crashes that comes like in 2008and 2020.
And once that stock again shows buy signal in our strategy we again get invested.

Which type of trading is good short term or long term?
