Several cricket boards including England and Wales Cricket Board, New Zealand Cricket, Cricket Ireland and Sri Lanka Cricket have reportedly approached the Board of Control for Cricket in India to add more ODI matches to India’s already packed 2026 schedule ahead of the 2027 World Cup.

The interest is driven not only by financial benefits but also by the rare chance to feature superstars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who are now focusing only on ODI cricket.

The BCCI is currently considering these requests while balancing scheduling uncertainties and player workload, with discussions ongoing about possible adjustments to existing bilateral tours.
