INVITATION for a retreat to explore the damages inflicted by Modernity.

It may be worthwhile to explore the cognitive system of illiterate indigenous communities which by default is sustainable. They have been able to sustain life for centuries. How is their system different from the modern one that does not create unsustainable knowledge by default and then as an afterthought think about sustainability?

How is their 'beingness' gets shaped?

How indigenous knowledge has been diverse in terms of content but 'modern' knowledge homogenous?

NATURAL COGNITION – the illiterates' cognition
Cognition as effortless and choiceless- the way one imbibes one’s mother tongue or how learning takes place in indigenous communities- traditional artisans, farmers, healers, musicians, etc.

UNNATURAL COGNITION – the literate cognition
‘Cognition’ with effort, as a result of being taught, read, and making conclusions using reason.

METACOGNITION among indigenous/illiterate cultures.
How intuitive IMPLICIT knowledge creation becomes EXPLICIT knowledge.
