The evolution and the basic idea of settlement runs parallel to the concept of struggle for existence and also the basic physiological and safety needs of mankind . The never ending efforts towards planning the life actually never ends and would never ever end in the future also. Yet β¦
Yet human planning continuously, relentlessly and with self motivated determination, keeps working on safety needs and settlement.
The life keeps going and so does human pursuit towards planning it .
However, very soon in life comes a time when the pursuits of planning takes priority. The efforts towards having a good life jeopardises the life itself .
We stop living in a hope that we can plan our life . We stop being in the present and keep shuttling in past memories and future options.
We stop living.
Is this what we want to do ?
Plan for life and not live ?
Does the life start when we are ready and prepared for it ? Whatβs our defination of that preparedness or readiness for life?
Life does not stop. It keeps going
Our preparedness is just a fantasy that , we all know very well, does not get into reality.
When was I, last, ready for life ?
How long did that moment last ?
What changed it ?
What did I do when I finally was prepared for life ?
We must ask these questions and question our own plannings and preparedness towards life.
Are we following pursuits that never come to a consummating end?
Does that mean we stop making efforts?
Does that mean we stop planning ?
The problem is not planning or efforts towards being prepared .
The problem is the priority that we give to planning , readiness and thinking about life instead of life itself .
That also leads us to the basic question. What is life ?
We all can define it in our own ways as long as itβs letting us be in the life or live the life without being ready and prepared for it .
Can I define whatβs life for me?
Can I define it without the elements or boundaries or parameters of readiness or preparedness?

Mankind per square feet
βMisty drops of water, floating in the air. A face with closed eyes, feeling the bliss of freshness and serenity in the air. Life touching life. Life feeling one with the universe. A divine merger of mankind with the creation. β
A small noise and the dream is over. The same mankind is faced with an entirely different experience of universe. Noise, contamination, pollution, vehicles, jams, multi-tasking, human frictions, race against time and a life dependent on technology, A merger of mankind with the creation of mankind and surely not divine.
The growth and development that was needed to make human life better in terms of food and shelter, has possibly gone in a direction beyond the need parameters. Unknowingly, but surely with lot of efforts, mankind has created this anti divine universe around it. The development of some of our cities, and to give an example of one of the fastest growing ones, is a clear indicator of what we can do to our own serenity in the pursuit of better life or growth.
Pune, Maharashtra, India.
Possibly one of the fastest growing cities on the earth in last 20 years. And the rate of growth is increasing at a cumulative rate.
To define growth, the parameters are simple. Number of Industries and number of people.
To define growth means to provide better life or living conditions to people
Any one who has stayed in this city or has observed this city will understand that the city may have grown in terms of business but surely not in terms of living conditions. The only things that have grown are concrete structures and more structures. This although is an outcome of commercial growth and is must, could have possibly or should have been different.
The city is offering success, growth and prosperity to everyone but are we offering anything in return to the city?
The projects are being approved, sanctioned and executed. The amount of commercial gains are definitely one of the highest. But all this is leaving the city in a state of functional paralysis.
The roads, the pollution, the tankers the open spaces, the public utilities, the public transport, the airport, the roads to airport or hospitals or schools or for that matter the road to anywhere is surely not an easy one.
There is a huge development of IT parks, townships, housing societies and malls but the infrastructure around them remains questionable.
The time that it takes to inch through any part of the city is clear indicator of the chaos.
The population increase is inevitable as part of the growth but increase in population density is not.
The growth also gave an opportunity to develop new infrastructure, new satellite cities and better living conditions but the opportunity seems to be lost.
The end result is a city without proper infrastructure, roads and open spaces.
The end result is a city with pollution, traffic jams and water tankers.
The rains will once again test the city infrastructure.
Why is this happening?
The increased demand? Yes off course and that has also resulted in buildings being constructed without desired infrastructure around them. Delays in infrastructure planning and ex*****on makes it impossible for certain plans to be executed or completed, as by that time the land is occupied by something else. The plans keep changing and ex*****on remains incomplete. Underdeveloped, insufficient and impractical infrastructure further increases chaos and stop gap planning.
Why are plans being made and executed in isolation or in pockets.
Why are projects getting sanctioned when the lack of infrastructure around them is evident?
Why is population density not considered before planning the infrastructure?
Why are floor space indexes going up creating concrete towers going higher and higher in the sky losing sight of ground realities.
Whoβs responsible?
Off course the mankind is responsible. If we want to live in such conditions, we are getting what we want.
If we want concrete jungles, then we are surely moving in the right direction.
If we want traffic jams and chaos and road rage, we are getting it.
If we want to focus on square feet rates and growth of the same, we will get it.
The square feet rates are going up and the sacrifice is made by mankind.
Itβs the mankind thatβs losing per square feet of growth.
The choice is ours.

Saying yes to life
The constant search for answers pertaining to life may give some food to the brain but may not give answers.
We may find or derive our own answers but they may not be the right answers.
We may keep digging more and more and yet may not be able to unearth anything.
Itβs like an ant moving around a round ball or sphere. Making efforts to reach somewhere but still remaining on the same sphere.
The intellectual exercise of finding meaning and reasons for things is yet another way of pleasing our own ego to have answers and understanding of all the things.
What is it that we are trying to understand? Life?
Isnβt life just life itself?
Isnβt it just about living?
Intellectually, we all understand what life is. Itβs the truth that we all have seen enough of. Especially, if we are a normal adult with a normal life.
What is normal life?
A normal life is all about birth, pain, happiness, gain, loss, love, hate, fair, unfair, winning and losing.
A normal life is being right and being wrong. We give so much importance to our ego that we are always worried about being wrong and the consequences of the same.
Old age is life
Disease is life
Loss is life
Humiliation is life
Misery is life
Broken heart is life
Depression is life
Death is life
If we agree that all the above is life, how can we say no to all the pain and misery?
Saying no to all the above means saying No to life.
Life is a mix of both positive and negative experiences. We can try but may not find answers or explanations to our negative experiences.
We canβt even find answers and logic behind our positive experiences.
Things just happen our way and things just do not happen our way. In reality, there is nothing like our way. Itβs the lifeβs way. When we say yes to life we say yes to its ways.
We canβt enjoy or appreciate the mountains if there are no valleys.
We enjoy the highs with reference to lows.
So when we already have accepted and said yes to life, why feel negative or anxious or scared about something that we have ourselves said yes to?
Canβt we be just bold enough to commit to all the ways of life?
All understanding and intellectual realization about life should also be materialized into our real actions and the projection of same in our thinking.
We all understand everything and must have gained lot of wisdom but can we transform this into living as per our understanding?
Canβt we just roar with our head held high to the ways of life?
Letβs take it head on and walk through it.
I am fine
