In Nakuru, Kenya, the sight of the gorgeous roses in the Rose farms, was a sight to behold.
One was always aware, that roses, their plantation, care, grafting, segregation, packaging etc. is a complex process, more so, when the roses in the farms in Nakuru, are not for local sale, but only exported to all corners of the world, but what one was not honestly aware of, were the technicalities, that went into the process.
Our friends in Nakuru - & whose hospitality we cherished & were bowled over by - are professionals to the core - the number of rose farms they own - is jaw dropping & the enormity of the process, is stunning to say the least.
Ritu went completely overboard, when she saw the rose varieties & wished she could carry some to India, which our friend Girish, would have made arrangements for as well, provided we were going straight back to India - which was not the case - as we were flying back to Doha & the rules & regulations for the carriage of flowers, is an entirely different process in that country - so that was it!
No roses could be taken.
