AAID Pune Study Circle will meet on 20th Feb 2014 at PYC Gymkhana, Bhandarkar Road Pune 411004 from 10am to 4pm.

5) Case of the month- Every Study Circle meeting, we will discuss a treatment plan, process involved in arriving to it, possible options in treatment and the rationale for the same.

Dr Amit Vora

Dr Amit Vora completed his BDS and MDS from Nair Hospital Dental College, Mumbai and then did his Advanced Education Program in Periodontics from New York University, School of Dentistry in 1996. We went on to do his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Columbia University, School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1999. He is American Board of Periodontics certified Periodontist with practice limited to Periodontics and Implantology.

He was also involved in research in Studied the effect of Stress on levels of Immune and Inflammatory Mediators in Gingival Crevicular Fluid at the Tarsson Periodontics Laboratory at Columbia University.

He has quite a few publications in international journals to his credit.

Dr Duke Heller


Alfred (Duke) Heller, DDS, M. S., limits his practice to the placement of dental implants. Dr. Heller has placed more than 20,000 implants since 1969. Dr. Heller is considered one of the “pioneers” of implant dentistry in the United Stated of America. He earned his DDS (1962) and M. S. (1974) from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He is an Honored Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He also served on the Admissions and Credentials Board of AAID for seven years. In 1980, he founded the Midwest Implant Institute (MII). He is Board Certified in Oral Implantology by the American Board of Oral Implantology. Dr. Heller has served as President of the ABOI. He is also on staff at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Heller is an active member in the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association & Columbus Dental Society.
The Midwest Implant Institute’s main location resides in Lewis Center, Ohio, but offers courses taught in all corners of the United States of America. Dr. Heller has lectured on topics regarding all aspects of implant dentistry for over 30 years within the institute and for multiple other implant oriented organizations.

A passionate practitioner and instructor, but still Dr. Heller enjoys all sports of The Ohio State University and represented OSU as a soccer player. He and his wife, Wanda, enjoy spending time with their three children and nine grandchildren

3. Presentation by mentors and the visiting faculty on all aspects on modern implant dentistry

4. Case discussion and treatment planning for all the participants, all the participants are encouraged to bring in their cases for discussion

5. Participants contribution by case presentation and free papers

6. Guidance to beginners for initiation in the field of implant dentistry

7. Mentoring for perusing accreditation to become an associate fellow and fellow of AAID. The participants will earn valuable ce hour credits necessary for persuasion of the accreditation of AAID

5. Provide for mentoring to beginners
6. Encourage members to take up the credentializing path, ( aaid & isoi fellowship, diplomate) to differentiate themselves from others in a scientific, unbiased, fair manner
