Top five reasons why investors are bullish on Indian markets - The Economic Times Goldman Sachs has upgraded India to 'overweight' and has put an aggressive target of 7,600 for the Nifty in the next 12 months.

Equity market outlook-

Macro economic data points showed improvement with growth & inflation data moving in the right direction.

Concerns on external sector receding gradually with improving current account and a stable currency.

Q3 FY14 results season came in marginally better than expected. Earnings growth expected at 9% & 18% for FY14 & FY15 respectively.

FIIs continue to be the net buyers in Indian equities while FII debt flows have also become positive since the beginning of the calendar year.

The above factors are the reason why markets are trading at all the highs.
But the big catch is the FIIs have been buying only large cap sensex stocks, whereas most of mid cap & Small cap stocks are at a 30- 70% discount to their 2008 value. When the sentiment changes with retail Indians & they start investing, these stocks are the target for the most of these investors. These stocks then present an opportunity to show huge gains of 100% over next two years.
We believe the catalyst for the change in sentiment would be the elections results.
