We are delighted to share that ‘Dhrupad Swarkul’ is initiating a new series - “Meeting the Maestros” ,
envisioned as an enriching platform where students and practitioners of Indian classical music can engage
with the stalwarts of our tradition through lecture-demonstrations.
For our inaugural session, we are deeply honoured to welcome Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar ji, who will graciously share his insights in a session titled ‘A Comparative Discussion on Raagas.’
This will be a limited seating event to retain the session’s depth and allow for close engagement.
Please note that this is only for students of Indian Classical Music.

Looking back at the process of Swarkul being built through these images is a heartwarming experience for us. From laying the first foundation stone, to working diligently with architect Shri Girish Doshi Ji, it has been a journey of many emotions.
His vision and attention to detail has made the place what it is today. Every stone, wall, window, nook and corner will continue to tell the story for years to come. 🙏🏼
Since the day Guruji had the idea of building a residential gurukul, we wanted someone who understands his vision and can bring it alive with as much passion, and enthusiasm. We are forever indebted to our architect Shri Girish Doshi ji, for coming on board this dream, and giving it life.
It isn’t an easy task to create a space that not only houses a family, but also students, and provides endless inspiration for music.
Our heartfelt gratitude towards Doshi ji for weaving our aspirations into efficient architecture. Your vision has truly harmonized with our melodies.

A dedicated space to train students in the art form of Dhrupad Gayaki, Swarkul in essence, is a residential Gurukul for fully dedicated Dhrupad students to learn and practice.
Guru Pt. Uday Bhawalkar has been nurturing students in Pune for over 3 decades, to take the tradition of Dhrupad music to the future while maintaining its sanctity and depth. He has himself trained in the Guru-Shishya Parampara and wishes to continue the tradition, thus founding Swarkul to realise this vision.

With a lot of faith, we announce the Swarkul Foundation!
After 35 years as an educator and performer of the ancient art of Dhrupad, Pt. Uday Bhawalkar is on the journey of building a residential Gurukul, by the name ‘Swarkul’ with the intent to impart knowledge and training to selected and deserving sadhaks of Dhrupad in the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara.
Located in Bavdhan, Pune Swarkul aims to enable interested and dedicated students to learn under the able guidance of Guruji while also living under the same roof as him.
Our hearts are full as this dream comes to life.
