The Pi Jam

What looked unstructured and chaotic at first was actually collective structure emerging in real time.
At the Pi Jam Unconference, nothing was pre-decided. The agenda took shape through shared inputs, open discussions, and sessions designed by participants themselves.
The model enabled shared ownership, meaningful participation, and collaborative learning across students, educators, researchers, and practitioners with students also stepping in to lead sessions.
Would you try or adapt this model in your own context? We at Pi Jam Foundation would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

“Bhaiya, yeh CPU khol sakte hain?”
Balaji from Grade 8 asked during the Build Your Lab activity.
No tools were available, but he and his friends Umesh and Aavesh tried anyway, using a classroom scale to open it.
Within minutes, the three of them were exploring the motherboard, fan and wires, discussing how each part works and learning from one another.
This small moment captures what Build Your Lab really does, it gives students the space to think, understand, create and take ownership of their learning environment.
None of this is possible without the support of our school stakeholders, the PMC Education Department Headmasters, and teachers who trust students with responsibility and encourage them to design meaningful learning spaces.
With support from Bajaj Finserv CSR , and the backing of committed school leaders, students across our partner schools are transforming their own labs, making spaces that truly reflect their needs, ideas and aspirations.
When children build the spaces they learn in, they begin to own their learning.
